I've always loved the travel brochures of the past because they made me anticipate summer vacation. So when I was privileged enough to acquire some vintage travel brochures and postcards (circa 1957), I was delighted and used them as inspiration for this painting.

The shoreline, water, and sky are acrylic painted directly onto the canvas. The smiling family wading in the water is an original acrylic painting on bristol board (NOT a reproduction) sealed onto the canvas with a water-resistant protective glaze.

The entire painting's edges are wrapped with reproductions of postcards from various lake-front vacation resorts of the era including Pinecrest, Strawberry Lake, Jasper Park Lodge, and many others.

The signed canvas needn't be framed as it is ready for hanging with an elegant white satin braid that looks like a miniature dock rope. The canvas is sealed with a glossy water-resistant protective glaze.

Canvas measures 16" wide x 12" high x 3/4" deep making it large enough to hang singly but not so large that you won't be able to find room for it.

Art canvas is packaged inside a gloss gift box adorned with a maribou puff-tie so the experience of receiving your order is like opening a gift. Your gift box is then carefully nestled into a sturdy white mailing box so it arrives safely to you.
